Analog Electronics Laboratory

Analog Electronic lab plays an important role in design an electronic circuit. Analog Electronics lab provides basic knowledge of electronic devices like diodes, transistors, and elementary circuits. This lab includes various kits like characteristics of diode, transistor, TRIAC. DIAC, FET etc. In this lab Students learns how to use a measuring device such as CRO as well as a source such as signal generator.

Logic Design Laboratory

Logic design lab is very useful for the students for realizing the logic circuits like counters, multiplexer, adders, sequence generator etc. In this lab major equipments used are Digital IC trainer kit, Digital IC tester. The logic design lab helps students to understand basic digital components and its application.

Microcontroller Laboratory

The most widely used instruction set for 8-bit microcontrollers (MCUs), the 8051 core has a long history and a tremendous, widely used code base. This lab introduces students to the elementary programming techniques, interfacing and designing simple applications using microcontroller 8051.Microcontroller plays a very important role in the design of embedded systems. In this lab 8051 assembly language programming is practiced

using AT89C51 microcontroller keliu Vision3 is the cross compiler used to do the programming. Few interfacing experiments are also performed using embedded C language. Such practice sessions will help he students to have a basic knowledge in the field of embedded systems. They will be learning about 8051 microcontroller programming and MSP430 microcontroller.

HDL Laboratory

Hardware Description language students will be able to analyze and evaluate VHDL & Verilog concepts. They are capable of designing and creating test with their complex system components. First implement an encryption algorithm using a standard hardware description language; then wrap the security module as a peripheral attached to bus; design an interface between peripheral and bus; apply an FPGA design flow for VLSI. Xilinx Software with Spartan III FPGA kits is used.

Analog Communication Laboratory

Advance Communication lab provides Basic knowledge on multiple duplexing ex, TDMA, FDMA and advance communication techniques. Modulation and Demodulation techniques for long distance channel with low power transmission.

DSP Laboratory

MATLAB Version 7.0.4, -SIMULINK 4.0, - Signal Processing tool box, - Communication tool box, - DSP Block sets, - Symbolic Math, - Control System tool box are used for implementing signal processing using MATLAB. To give students an introduction to real-time DSP requirements by exposing them to the use of some educational DSP kits with real time capability, which will help them get acquainted with the programming of these devices and some typical hardware and functions found in practical applications such as I/O interface cards (A/D, D/A, I/O filters), types of DSP processors and their different characteristics, interrupts, etc.

Advanced Communication Laboratory

The Advanced Communication Laboratory covers design and verification of the concepts of modern digital communication systems that operates from MHz-GHz range. The lab include experiments on applications of Digital coding and modulation techniques, Fiber Optic Communication, and Characteristics of microwave waveguide components. This lab is equipped with Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Modules for Digital Modulation and Demodulation techniques and Power

supply units. To enhance precise measurement and observe waveform with better clarity Digital Storage Oscilloscopes are used. The Microwave test benches are used to conduct experiments in GHz frequency range. Various digital coding and modulation kits are used apart from discrete components to demonstrate the basic concepts involved in digital communication. An OFT kit is used to demonstrate communication and multiplexing through Light waves.

Microprocessor Laboratory

Microprocessor lab introduces the student with 8/16 bit microprocessor 8086. In this lab students will get exposed to basic instruction set, Architecture of 8086, Addressing mode, Editing, Debugging the software programs like Data movement, Logical and arithmetic, Loop and branch, interrupt programming etc. The students get knowledge about interfacing the hardware kits like stepper motor, logic controller, display, Keyboard with 8086 Microprocessor.

VLSI Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with Licensed Cadence Tool VLSI Lab provides the student basic VLSI design concepts using CAD tool called cadence. Creating Verilog code for digital system and verify by using test bench also how to design analog circuits and layout for it. Verifying layout using DRC and LVS check. The students will get expose to industry handled tool and real time projects.

Power Electronics Laboratory

Power electronics lab gives the idea of characteristic features high power semiconductor devices like SCR, MOSFET and IGBT. Power Electronics is the application of solid state electronics for the control and conversion of Electric Power. Power Electronics have already found an important place in modern technology and now being used in great variety of high power products, including heat controls, light controls, domestic and industrial motor control power supplies, vehicle propulsion systems and HVDC systems. The Power Electronics Laboratory our institute is well equipped with the latest state of art technology equipment to meet the requirements for the conduction of all the experiments as per VTU curriculum.
