Embedded Controller Laboratory

Flower

The most widely used instruction set for 8-bit microcontrollers (MCUs), the 8051 core has a long history and a tremendous, widely used code base. This lab introduces students to the elementary programming techniques, interfacing and designing simple applications using microcontroller 8051.Microcontroller plays a very important role in the design of embedded systems. In this lab 8051 assembly language programming is practiced

using AT89C51 microcontroller keliu Vision3 is the cross compiler used to do the programming. Few interfacing experiments are also performed using embedded C language. Such practice sessions will help he students to have a basic knowledge in the field of embedded systems. They will be learning about 8051 microcontroller programming and MSP430 microcontroller.

HDL Laboratory

Hardware Description language students will be able to analyze and evaluate VHDL & Verilog concepts. They are capable of designing and creating test with their complex system components. First implement an encryption algorithm using a standard hardware description language; then wrap the security module as a peripheral attached to bus; design an interface between peripheral and bus; apply an FPGA design flow for VLSI. Xilinx Software with Spartan III FPGA kits is used.

Advanced Communication Laboratory

Flower

The Advanced Communication Laboratory covers design and verification of the concepts of modern digital communication systems that operates from MHz-GHz range. The lab include experiments on applications of Digital coding and modulation techniques, Fiber Optic Communication, and Characteristics of microwave waveguide components. This lab is equipped with Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Modules for Digital Modulation and Demodulation techniques and Power

supply units. To enhance precise measurement and observe waveform with better clarity Digital Storage Oscilloscopes are used. The Microwave test benches are used to conduct experiments in GHz frequency range. Various digital coding and modulation kits are used apart from discrete components to demonstrate the basic concepts involved in digital communication. An OFT kit is used to demonstrate communication and multiplexing through Light waves.

Microprocessor Laboratory

Microprocessor lab introduces the student with 8/16 bit microprocessor 8086. In this lab students will get exposed to basic instruction set, Architecture of 8086, Addressing mode, Editing, Debugging the software programs like Data movement, Logical and arithmetic, Loop and branch, interrupt programming etc. The students get knowledge about interfacing the hardware kits like stepper motor, logic controller, display, Keyboard with 8086 Microprocessor.
