The BCE-Shravanabelagola has been recognized by the Government of Karnataka (ED 124 UMV 97, Dated 22/8/1997) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi (F.770-53-225/ET/96 Dated 4.8.1997) and It is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi (Ref. No./VTU/S.P:Composition:98-99:3821). The institute has been conferred a Jain Religious Minority Status. It is an unaided institution.
The college is located at an internationally known religious and tourist place Shravanabelagola. Sri Kshetra Shravanabelagola has a history of more than 1200 years and is reputed as Dakshin Jain Kashi. The town is 150 km far from Bangalore. Here the two hills of rocks, Vindyagiri and Chandragiri, depict the history of the rulers, achievers, religious saints, artists, literary giant etc. The world’s tallest monolithic statue of Bhagwan Bahubali, hailed as poetry in stone, stands on the Vindyagiri symbolizing the non-violence and peace. His Holiness Jagadguru Karamayogi Swastishri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Maha Swamiji is the Head of the Shravanabelagola Digambar Jain Math (SDJM) and under his guidance the sleepy town has developed in to pilgrimage centre and an international tourist place. Shravanabelagola has a pleasant and healthy climate throughout the year. It is a perfect serene place for education, far from the maddening crowd, busy and polluted urban environments.
S.S.D.J.J.P. Sangha
The Sri Shravanabelagola Digambar Jain Jnana Prasaraka (SSDJJP) Sangha is a registered charitable society established in the year 1982 as the educational wing of Shravanabelagola Digambar Jain Math (SDJM). It manages the various educational institutions from nursery to professional colleges providing the value-based education for the rural people.
